DEED AWARDS ST. CLOUD STATE $50,000 FOR PARK INDUSTRIES PARTNERSHIP

The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) just approved 11 workforce development grants, one of which was awarded to St. Cloud State University.

SCSU received $49,998 to collaborate with Park Industries in developing a skills program for 80 business leaders that focuses on executive transformation, collaboration and communication skills, as well as TriMetrix certification. TriMetrix is a sophisticated assessment that explores behavioral style, personal motivators/drivers, acumen and competencies.

This collaboration among two GSDC corporate-level investors is another example of innovation at work. Congratulations to SCSU and Park Industries on this important partnership.

GSDC INVESTOR ORGANIZATIONS MIGHT HAVE YOUR PERFECT HOLIDAY GIFTS

Whether you’ve already started holiday shopping or are waiting a couple more weeks before getting serious, keep in mind the excellent goods and services offered by GSDC investors and other area businesses.

We’ve all seen lists of “25 best gifts for women” or “10 new items for the great outdoors,” but those ideas often miss the mark. So consider trying another list for nearby opportunities: this link to GSDC investor organizations:  https://www.greaterstcloud.com/engageleaders/.

They might have just what you need, and you’d be supporting local businesses at the same time. Happy shopping!

THIS NEWSLETTER ISN’T THE ONLY SOURCE FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT NEWS

Our latest Developing News feature on a GSDC investor is about Grede – St. Cloud, whose story can be found on our StCloudShines.com website.

Grede has been producing highly engineered iron-casting solutions for over a century. As one of the most prominent metal casters in the U.S., Grede knows a thing or two about the importance of making an impact across the community.

Established in Wauwatosa, WI, just after World War I ended, Grede was founded by William J. Grede in 1920 when he purchased what was then called the Liberty Foundry. Today, Grede leads the industry with ten facilities across America and over 3,000 team members.
